My Community, My Heritage, My Place

Funded by Solihull MBC, Solihull Cultural Education Partnership's New Communities Festival ‘My Community, My Heritage, My Place’ is encouraging children and young people to celebrate and share their cultural heritage through the arts. Running across May 2023 - March 2024, the festival worked with 20 schools the Solihull borough to celebrate home, community, and identity, focusing on communities from Ukraine and Hong Kong in particular. Each school worked with an artist across 5 days, using a variety of art forms to explore the themes in new and exciting ways. This culminated in a celebration event at Cineworld Solihull on 5th March, which premiered the project film, as well as showcased various schools own work, and engaged young people in other performances and activities.
